The people of Clay County deserves a Western Commissioner who shares their values and will focus on the issues that really matter.

Jon has served as a four-term Democratic Representative of Missouri’s 15th House District, which includes Kansas City north, Gladstone, and the Oaks Villages. He fought hard for years to fully fund our public schools, raise the minimum wage, protect the environment, and put the needs of working families ahead of big money special interests. Most recently, he was a leading voice in state government calling for serious action to address both the health and economic hardships of COVID-19.

Prior to serving the Kansas City Northland in public office, Jon grew up in the area. He attended St. Charles grade school, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. At North Kansas City High School, his hard work and determination earned him a spot as a National Merit Scholar and he received a scholarship to the University of Southern California.

While at school in Los Angeles, Jon interned for four-term U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. He served as Financial Director and later President of the USC College Democrats. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Political Science and a minor in International Relations.

Upon graduating, with a desire to call Missouri home once again, he returned to the state and married his high school (and current) sweetheart, Midori. They continue to call the Northland home.
