Integrity. Transparency. Respect. Clay County deserves a Western Commissioner who represents our interests, not just their own.

Jon is serving in his fourth term as Representative of Missouri’s 15th House District, which includes Kansas City north, Gladstone, and the Oaks Villages. He serves on several House committees: General Laws (Ranking Minority Member), Professional Registration and Licensing (Ranking Minority Member), and Rules - Administrative Oversight.

Prior to serving the Kansas City Northland in public office, Jon grew up in the area. He attended St. Charles grade school, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. At North Kansas City High School, his hard work and determination earned him a spot as a National Merit Scholar and he received a scholarship to the University of Southern California.

While at school in Los Angeles, Jon interned for four-term U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. He served as Financial Director and later President of the USC College Democrats. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Political Science and a minor in International Relations.

Upon graduating, with a desire to call Missouri home once again, he returned to the state and married his high school (and current) sweetheart, Midori. Together, they started Carpenter Communications, a marketing and advertising firm that partners with local businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Jon is a member of the Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce and the Northland Democratic Club. He lives with his wife, Midori, in Kansas City North.
