Jon Carpenter

DEMOCRAT for CLAY COUNTY WESTERN COMMISSIONER

Jon Carpenter
VOTE
TUESDAY
NOVEMBER 3

Character. Integrity. Conviction. Clay County deserves a new voice on the Commission who represents our values.

Thank you for visiting my campaign page. I was born and raised in Clay County and strongly believe our county government must be a good steward of taxpayer money. It must be efficient, transparent, and accountable to the people.

I'm running for Commissioner because I know we can do better. We need leaders who are more interested in solving problems rather than creating them. I look forward to putting the bickering behind us and getting back to the important work of improving infrastructure, ensuring we have safe, thriving neighborhoods, and protecting social services for our most vulnerable citizens.

ABOUT JON

Jon has dedicated his career as  a four-term Democratic State Representative to bringing common sense solutions to politics and representing the best interests of the Northland.

  • In the State Legislature, Jon fought hard for years for issues that really matter:

    • Fully funding our public schools

    • Raising the minimum wage

    • Protecting the environment

    • Putting the needs of working families in front of big money special interests

    • Leading the call for serious action to address the public health and economic hardships caused by COVID-19

Prior to serving in public office, Jon was born and raised in our community. He attended St. Charles School and graduated a National Merit Scholar from North Kansas City High School. With a scholarship, he attended the University of Southern California and studied Political Science and International Relations. After graduating, Jon married his high school, college (and current) sweetheart, Midori, and they have called the Northland home ever since.
